DJ & multi-instrumentalist producer Alexander Morris—better known as Distant Matter—is redefining electronic music with his emotionally charged, genre-blending sound. Since launching the project in 2021, Distant Matter has racked up over 20 million streams, building a devoted following through his nostalgic yet futuristic production style. Receiving support and playing alongside the likes of Flume, Elderbrook, it’s murph, Loud Luxury, D.O.D, Post Malone, The Kid Laroi, Two Friends, Laszewo and more, Distant Matter has steadily made a name for himself across North America—delivering high-energy sets on some of the most iconic stages in the game. Distant Matter’s meteoric rise in the electronic scene has been impossible to ignore. In Summer 2023, he hit the mainstage at two of Canada’s biggest festivals—VELD (Toronto) and Escapade (Ottawa)—followed by a sold-out 6,000+ crowd at the iconic Brooklyn Mirage in NYC. In 2024, he hit the road with Laszewo on their headline tour, performed at Splash House, Same Same But Different, and dropped an official remix of Dasha’s viral hit "Austin". In 2025, Distant Matter continued his momentum with a four-show run at Miami Music Week, followed by touring alongside breakout act it’s murph, and signed with UTA, further cementing his presence in the next wave of electronic innovators.
